Farrowing sows quickly get too hot. Individual cooling helps them eat better, and ensures they leave the farrowing house in better condition.

On 20 March 2021, a fire destroyed the farrowing house of EARL Riou Jérôme in the municipality of Plounéventer (Finistêre department in Brittany, France). After this tragic event, Jérôme moved on and used this opportunity to restructure his farm. You can see here the progress of his project that he showcased during the open day on 20 May.

The percentage of piglet lay-ons can be reduced by about 80% with an additional investment in a movable floor of $300 to $400 per farrowing crate. This additional investment is recovered quickly.

A consortium of twelve Dutch companies has started working on the development of an innovative, responsible and animal-friendly growth model for the pig farming sector in China. The first achievement is the construction of a Research Test & Training Centre (RTTC) in Anping, where Dutch knowledge and expertise will be applied to create better living conditions for people and animals in and around the Chinese pig farming sector.

The PIB program is a three-year collaboration between the Dutch government and a cluster of Dutch companies and knowledge institutions in the Argentinian chain of pig farming. Nooyen is part of this collaboration.

The Nooyen Poly Deck is a polymer composite grid floor, suitable for piglets and fattening pigs. The Poly Deck floor is particularly hygienic thanks to the closely spaced structure of the material and the open layout. The floors are also available with a closed area.

On the 7th and 8th November we organized our Dealer Days 2019. The program about sow & pig farming, hygiene, animal welfare and results gave us all a lot of extra information and food for thought about the approach of the global markets to the future.
